This contribution was focused on the study of the optical properties of the Cs2HfI6 single crystals grown by the vertical Bridgman method. Room temperature absorption spectra of the Cs2HfI6 showed an absorption edge at ca. 480 nm. At 8K, the absorption edge shifted towards to ca. 460 nm due to the suppression of lattice vibrations. At room temperature, the photoluminescence emission peak was observed at ca. 640 nm when the sample was excited by 480 nm photons, and the photoluminescence decay constant at 640-nm-emission and 480-nm-excitation was ca. 2.03 µs. Using the integration sphere, the inner quantum yield reached approximately 70%. Moreover, the temperature dependence of the photoluminescence intensity of Cs2HfI6 to evaluate the origin of luminescence was presented.
