The chapter focuses on the development of democracy and its quality in the Czech Republic during and in the aftermath of the economic crisis (with the main focus on the time 2009-2014). The authors seek to answer the question, as to whether the economic crisis contributed to the weakening of Czech democracy, or if the external shock of the economic crisis further amplified pre-existing weaknesses.
