Tato práce poskytuje základní analýzu překladové technky používané ve Druhé staroslověnské legendě o sv. Václavu. Tato legenda patří do okruhu textů, jako je 40 homilií na evangelia Řehoře Velikého, které byly přeloženy z latiny do staroslověnštiny na území raně středověkých Čech v 11. století. Kvalita staroslověnského překladu Druhé staroslověnské legendy byla často zpochybňována. Tato skutečnost však neukazuje na překladatelovu neznalost staroslověnštiny, ale na obtížnost latinského originálu, z něhož byl vytvořen slovanský překlad. Legenda nebyla doposud podroběna důkladnější analýze, nebyl například detailněji studován vztah mezi slovanským překladem a původní latinskou legendou. V této souvislosti je nezbytné věnovat pozornost překladové technice specifických latinských syntaktických konstrukcí do staroslověnštiny, jako jsou např. ablativ absolutní, infinitivní konstrukce a konstrukce gerundií a gerundiv.

The present paper provides a fundamental analysis of the translation techniques used for the Second Old Church Slavonic Life of Saint Wenceslas. This legend belongs to a group of texts, such as Forty Gospel Homilies of St. Gregory the Great, which were translated from Latin into Old Church Slavonic in the territory of Early Medieval Bohemia in the 11th century. The quality of the Old Church Slavonic translation of the Life of Saint Wenceslas has been often called into question. This fact does not depend on the translator’s limited knowledge of the Old Church Slavonic, but rather in the difficulty of the Latin original, from which the Slavonic translation was made. This legend has not been thoroughly studied yet. Specifically, the relationship between the Old Church Slavonic translation and the original Latin legend of Gumpold has not been taken into account. Due to the relationship between the Old Church Slavonic text and the Gumpold’s legend, it is essential to study and analyze the translation techniques of specific Latin syntactical constructions into Old Church Slavonic, such as of the ablative absolute, the infinitive constructions, gerund, and gerundive constructions.
