Spis Užitečná rozprava o vedení války s Turky s výkladem Žalmu 28 (Utilissima consultatio de bello Turcis inferendo et obiter enarratus Psalmus XXVIII) Desideria Erasma Rotterdamského (1466/9–1536) byl sepsán a poprvé publikován roku 1530, tedy krátce po bouřlivých událostech ve Vídni, která byla na podzim předchozího roku sevřena v obležení tureckého vojska. Turci sice od obléhání nakonec upustili, avšak Evropa zůstávala v trvalé nejistotě a strachu z turecké expanze. Za těchto okolností se Erasmus rozhodl zapojit do debaty o válce s Turky a v Užitečné rozpravě probrat argumenty pro i proti jejímu vedení. Hlavním cílem spisu je však pojednat o tom, jak válku vést úspěšně, pokud k ní už dojde, a protože klíč k úspěchu spočívá v přístupu křesťanstva k víře a morálce, je do textu umně zakomponován i výklad Žalmu 28. Publikace obsahuje úvodní studii o historickém a literárním kontextu vzniku spisu, překlad textu Utilissima consultatio do češtiny a podrobný komentář.

Desiderius Erasmus of Rotterdam (1466/9-1536) wrote and published his Utilissima consultatio de bello Turcis inferendo et obiter enarratus Psalmus XXVIII (The Most Useful Discussion Concerning the War against the Turks with an Explanation of Psalm 28) in 1530, i. e. shortly after the siege of Vienna in the autumn of the previous year. It cannot be determined whether the treatise was written as a reaction to the events or whether Erasmus simply opted to contribute to the discussion that had been going on in Europe for years. However, it transpires soon that Erasmus did not consider the treatise as an advice in political matters, but that its main objective was to criticize the Christian society for its lack of morality and piety. According to Erasmus, the Turks cannot be defeated, unless there is fundamental moral correction in the Christian society. We can only prevail, if we stop pursuing power, wealth and pleasure and turn ourselves to piety. In his reasoning, Erasmus included an explanation of Psalm 28. This book contains a Czech translation of Utilissima consultatio with an introductory essay and detailed annotations.
