Historický přehled vývoje Československa od nastolení komunistického režimu v únoru 1948 do roku 1959. První hluboká krize režimu, politická, hospodářská i sociální, která vypukla poč. 50. let a kterou se podařilo překonat až po změně zahraničně politické orientace sovětského bloku po Stalinově smrti. Vývoj v roce 1956 a pokusy o liberalizaci režimu, jejich neúspěch a následné upevňování komunistického režimu ve druhé polovině 50. let.

A historical survey of the development in Czechoslovakia from the establishment of the communist regime in February 1948 till 1959. The first deep crisis of the regime – political, economic and social – that broke out in the early 1950s and could be overcome only after the change of foreign policy orientation of the Soviet bloc after Stalin’s death. The development after 1956 and attempts at the liberalisation of the regime, their failure and subsequent strengthening of the communist regime in the second half of the 1950s.
