Kapitola se snaží vyřešit dvě otázky spojené s Betlémskou kaplí v prvním desetiletí 15. století: jak často probíhala kázání a kdo je pronášel. Valnou většinu kázání obstaral Jan Hus. Prameny nepodporují interpretaci některých historiků, že v Betlémě se kázalo denně. Během svého působení v Betlémské kapli v letech 1402-1412 Jan Hus pronesl kolem 3000 kázání. Četnost kázání v Betlémě v té době byla mnohem vyšší než v běžných farních kostelích a jistě se vyrovnala frekvenci kázání ve specializovaných mendikantských kostelích.

This chapter attempts to resolve two questions connected with the Bethlehem Chapel in the first decade of the fifteenth century: how often sermons were preached and who delivered them. The bulk of Bethlehem sermons were delivered by Jan Hus. The evidence does not support the interpretation of some historians who suggested everyday preaching at Bethlehem. During his time at Bethlehem Chapel between 1402 and 1412, Jan Hus might have preached ca. 3000 sermons. The frequency of preaching at Bethlehem in that time was much higher than in ordinary parish churches and certainly equalled the number of sermons given in specialised mendicant churches.
