The 14th Central European Workshop on Soil Zoology was held on April 16-18, 2018 in České Budějovice. In total 49 participants (32 of them from abroad) presented their lectures and posters. They deal with evolutionary history and genetics of animals, methodological issues in the field of soil zoology, animal response to the environment, the use of soil invertebrates for the indication of environmental changes and animal interactions. Moreover, participants present the results on research that encompass a wide range of different soil invertebrates from soil microfauna to soil macrofauna and investigate various habitats from all over the world, beyond temperate zone also tropics and polar regions.
