    The paper deals with the preparation and characterization of the TiNS layer of the Ti2SnC layer belonging to the so-called MAX phase. Material prepared in bulk form was characterized by the usual methods: XRD, SEM, HRTEM. Subsequently his mechanical properties were studied by the nanoindentation method. The measured results reveal a high microstructural potential to exploit this material under extreme and radiation conditions.
