The article deals with the preparation and characterization of the layer ternary Cr2GaC carbide belonging to the so-called MAX phase. Material prepared in bulk form was characterized by the usual methods: XRD, SEM, HRTEM. The study deals in detail with the layered structure of the material. The results obtained show a stable, homogeneous layered material with a minimum of structural defects and high temperature resistance.
