Nous pouvons trouver, dans la tradition phénoménologique, de nombreux travaux qui insistent sur la dimension affective de notre expérience. En effet, une des contributions majeures de la philosophie heideggérienne fut précisément de mettre en évidence le caractère fondamental de l’affectivité. Néanmoins, nous trouvons déjà chez Husserl – outre les analyses explicites de l’intentionnalité spécifique des affects – des ressources pour développer une théorie de l’affectivité à partir du concept de l’intentionnalité de pulsion ou de la notion des synthèses passives. Et d’autres exemples ne manquent pas dans l’histoire de la tradition phénoménologique. Pendant ce séminaire nous allons nous concentrer sur la dimension affective de l’imagination. Comment peut-on articuler, dans une architectonique phénoménologique, ces deux couches de l’expérience ? S’il y a une imagination transcendantale, est-elle affective ? Comment rendre compte, d’un point de vue phénoménologique, de l’enchevêtrement de l’imagination et de l’affectivité dans les cas psychopathologiques, dans les œuvres d’art, dans les rêveries, etc. ? Y a-t-il des affects imaginaires ou l’imaginaire est-il toujours affectivement chargé ? Voilà quelques questions centrales qui guideront la réflexion.

The conference aims at bringing together researchers who deal with the question of affectivity and imagination with a phenomenological approach. There is no doubt that affectivity and imagination are two major topics that phenomenology has to deal with. However other disciplines already furnish us with insightful analyses of the entanglement of these two dimensions of human experience. Psychology for example has repeatedly pointed out the different ways in which imagination and affectivity shape our being in the world. The aesthetical experiences too account for a strong relationship between affectivity an imagination. We can however also ask the question from, an anthropological point of view. One of the most important aspects of the conference should thus be interdisciplinarity. Phenomenology serves as a common ground to deal with experiences in which the affective the imaginary dimensions of our experience intersect. Some researchers will present their studies on psychopathological cases or on aesthetical experiences, others will discuss the relationship between affectivity and imagination from a historical point of view and again other will sketch out an architectonical articulation of these two ground dimensions of the human existence. Thus the more concrete approaches of individual cases will be accompanied by a discussion of a general conceptual framework.
