Mnohem více nápisů než ve specializované epigrafické literatuře je zpřístupněno v literatuře a dalších zdrojích jiných vědních oborů. Využití maxima epigrafických poznatků z těchto prací vyžaduje specifickou metodu přístupu, která by měla být vzata v úvahu rovněž při edičním zpřístupnění diskutovaných pramenů (Soupis památek historických a uměleckých v království Českém …). Z epigrafického pohledu může sloužit jako rámec v této oblasti relevantní ediční praxe etablovaných katalogů typu Die Deutschen Inschriften, které zpřístupňují vedle primárně i sekundárně dochované nápisy.

Many more inscriptions are made accessible in the literature and sources of other scientific disciplines than in specialized epigraphic literature. Exploiting the maxima of the epigraphic knowledge from this works required a specific method of the approach, which should be taken into account also in the editorial accessibility of the discussed sources (Inventory of the Historical and Artistic Monuments in the Kingdom Bohemia…) From an epigraphic perspective, the relevant editorial practice of the established catalogues of the type Die Deutschen Inschriften, making accessible besides the primary also the secondarily preserved inscriptions, can serve as a framework in this area.
