Šlechtický rod, jmenující se po hradu Luleč u Vyškova, náležel od první poloviny 14. do počátku 16. století k tradiční moravské nobilitě. Příspěvek „K nejstarším dějinám rytířů z Lulče“ upozorňuje na dobové zápisy v pamětní knize města Brna, zmiňující první, dosud neznámé členy rodu, i rodové kontakty s městským prostředím ve 14. století. Arbitráž z 26. června 1348 řešila spor mezi měšťanem Albertem Hopfnerem a paní Žofií, vdovou po panu Ješkovi z Lulče: Žofie zastavila patrně u Alberta zbroj, stříbrný pohár a dvojici stříbrných lžic, dohodnutá peněžní půjčka jí však nebyla poskytnuta. Zápisem z 3. ledna 1363 se pak tři spříznění či spřátelení šlechtici z okolí Vyškova, mezi nimi i Bedřich z Lulče, zaručili jako rukojmí za příbuzného šlechtice, který byl v Brně zatčen při loupeži. Obě zprávy tak dokreslují někdy konfliktní, většinou však přínosné vztahy mezi šlechtou a obyvateli moravských měst ve středověku.

The aristocratic family named after the castle of Luleč near Vyškov was a part of the traditional Moravian nobility from the early 14th to the beginning of the 16th century. The article entitled “The Earliest History of the Knights of Luleč” refers to records in the Memorial Book of the City of Brno that mention the first, previously unknown members of this family, as well as the family’s contacts with the urban milieu in the 14th century. An arbitration process held on 26th June 1348 resolved a dispute between the burgher Albert Hopfner and Lady Sophia, the widow of Sir John of Luleč: Sophia probable pawned some armour, a silver cup and a pair of silver spoons with Albert, although she was not loaned the money they had agreed on. A record dated 3rd January 1363 then states that three affiliated or allied nobles from the Vyškov area, including Frederick of Luleč, offered themselves as hostages on behalf of a noble relative who had been arrested for robbery in Brno. Both reports give us a good picture of the occasionally conflicting, although mostly favourable relations between the nobility and the inhabitants of Moravian towns during the Late Middle Ages.
