The itinerant-electron compound LaFe12B6 exhibits an antiferromagnetic ground state (with TN = 36 K) that transforms into a ferromagnetic state via a field-induced metamagnetic transition at ambient pressure. The X-ray diffraction measurements confirmed that the ambient pressure crystal structure is preserved up to 14 GPa with a progressive decrease of TN (-4.5 K/GPa) and a strong increase of the critical field of metamagnetic transition Hc (+24 T/GPa). This clearly indicates the crucial role of volume in the itinerant-electron magnetism.
