The contribution brings a simple analysis of influence of numbers of blades in stationary and rotating turbine wheels on the origin and on properties of forced and aero-elastic running waves in blade cascade. The studied system is simplified on the rotating wheel with 12 blades, each modelled by 1 DOF. The stationary wheel has 11 blades.
The wakes of steam-flow from stationary cascade excites rotating blades by periodic forces, mutual shifted by phase delays depending on the ration of rotor and stator blades. Different numbers of blades on rotating and on stationary wheels produce forced running waves in the rotating blade cascade. The flowing gas causes also instability and increase of self-excited oscillations, described by Van der Pol model. These flutter oscillations are synchronized by forced running waves and result into dangerous flutter running waves.
Detailed properties of these flutter running waves were analysed in the paper.
