In the mining industry Australia is one of the world leaders. This is due to a wide range of extracted raw material, mined volumes, as well as due to a development, implementation and application of new products and processes. This phenomenon is also reflected in mining rescue in preventive activities in reducing mining accidents and predicting possible risks. To make the knowledge of all possible risks perfect, Australian rescuers use the virtual reality environment (VR) developed in 2007 at the University of New South Wales. Today's VR environment is a 4th generation system that is already fully involved by Australian rescuers, but in the coming years, a 5th generation system will be deployed for training. At this time, the VR system includes 3 unique VR platforms, 5 levels of learning environment and 7 learning modules for both deep and surface mining workers. The VR environment faithfully simulates the possible risks (explosion, rockburts, fire, etc.), allows a backward analysis of the miner's behavior and generally contributes to shorter training and instruction than is customary.
