It is a 10th consecutive meeting on anaerobic microbiology and has been founded for young scientists from all over the world to meet renowned researchers from the field and to present their own results. This has been the case in the previous nine meetings which were held in different European countries (Slovenia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Austria) every two years since 1998 and will hopefully continue in the same manner.
Topics covering biodiversity and evolution, modern molecular approaches, genetics, genomics, proteomics and of anaerobic microorganisms from animal and human gut and other anaerobic environments, as well as controlling and manipulation of microbial communities and activities in these environments will be addressed. Microbial interactions with the host organisms and novel approaches to isolation & cultivation of anaerobic bacteria, protozoa and fungi will be addressed, too.
The meeting is going to be devoted primarily to young researchers interested in the field of anaerobic microbiology, the scientific quality, however, will be assured through invited lectures presented by selected renowned scientists. Each of the six sessions will comprise one 30 min invited lecture and four to six 20 min presentations. Additionally poster sessions will be organized.
