Kniha je příspěvkem k tématu polemického diskursu husitské doby. Přináší vůbec první, a to komentované vydání staročeského překladu díla, které je známo pod jménem Tabule veteris et novi coloris, příp. Cortina de Antichristo a složil jej v Praze Mikuláš z Drážďan. Český překlad se dochoval ve dvou ilustrovaných verzích: starší v tzv. Göttingenském rukopise, mladší v tzv. Jenském kodexu. Oba prameny představují specifický typ díla, v němž psané slovo a malovaný obraz žijí v rovnocenné funkční symbióze. První část knihy obsahuje šest statí, z nichž každá nahlíží Tabule z jedné určité oborové perspektivy (historické, medievistické, kodikologické, ikonografické, lingvistické, translatologické). Druhou část knihy tvoří edice s doprovodným aparátem. Je zde otištěn staročeský text Tabulí (v přepise do novočeského pravopisu a v plném znění z obou dochovaných rukopisů), latinské znění a všechny ostatní doprovodné zápisy obou pramenů. Edice zohledňuje jednak vzájemnou, ale rozdílně v obou rukopisech realizovanou vazbu psaného slova a malovaného obrazu, jednak rozmístění obsahově antitetických výroků na protilehlé strany otevřeného kodexu.

The book contributes to the topic of the political discourse of the Hussite period. It brings the very first, annotated edition of an Old Czech translation of the work known under the title Tabule veteris et novi coloris, or Cortina de Antichristo and written in Prague by Nicholas of Dresden. The Czech translation has been preserved in two illustrated versions: the earlier in the Göttingen Manuscript, the later in the Jena Codex. The two sources represent a specific type of work in which the written word and the painted image are in close and equivalent functional symbiosis. The first part of the book contains six essays, each of which views the Tables from a certain professional perspective (history, medievistics, codicology, iconography, linguistics, translatology). The second part of the book comprises the annotated edition. Here is printed the Old Czech text of the Tables (in its transcription into Modern Czech spelling in the full wording from both extant manuscripts), the Latin text and all the other accompanying texts from the both sources. The edition attempts to take into account both the mutual connection between the written word and the painted image, implemented differently in the two manuscripts, and the placement of antithetic statements on two facing pages of an open codex.
