Der Artikel befasst sich mit dem Bild Karls IV., der sich ständig im Umfeld seines Hofes als der weise Herrscher repräsentieren lässt. Der Artikel analysiert erst die typische Charakteristiken der Könige, die im 13. und 14. Jahrhundert als weisen Könige gesehen wurden. Dann ist das Bild von Karl IV. als weisen König mit diese Charakteristiken verglichen und die Weisheit als wichtige Komponent seines Repräsentation bestimmt.

The article discusses the image of Charles IV., who was permanently represented as a wise ruler on his court. The article first analyses typical characteristics of kings, who were during 13th and 14th century called “wise”. Then the image of Charles IV is compared with these characteristics. The wisdom is defined as an important aspect of his representation.
