The fluidity and slip functions of 30, 35 and 40% aqueous kaolin suspensions measured at different temperatures by using uncommercial cone-cone sensors made from different materials confirmed
reliability of this method. The fluidity was found to decrease with increasing kaolin concentration and also, which is surprising, with increasing temperature. The measured slip coefficients decrease with
increasing kaolin concentration, but were enhanced when the temperature was increased. The slip coefficient strongly depends also on the material of the sensor walls. Positive slip coefficients were determined for the stainless steel and titanium sensors, whereas negative slip coefficients were detected for the dural sensor with eloxal coated surfaces.
