Studie zkoumá konceptuální umělecké strategie – realizované v české literatuře sporadicky už v devadesátých letech 20. století, intenzivněji potom po roce 2010 – stavějící samotnou metodu tvorby (inspirovanou digitálními médii či je přímo využívající) nad výraz a tvůrčí záměr subjektu. Jedním z cílů studie je ověřit aplikovatelnost Goldsmithovy teorie konceptuálního psaní na české realizace tohoto přístupu k literatuře. Ukazuje se totiž, že Godsmithův programní konceptualismus - zdůrazňující princip apropriace - postihuje pouze část konceptuálních strategií, které v soudobé literatuře vyvěrají ze stejného zdroje, jímž je kontakt literárního diskursu a digitální kultury. Korpus českojazyčných textů vzniklých konceptuálními postupy vykazuje značnou vnitřní diverzitu zvolených metod a strategií (vedle apropirace jsou to montáž, deformace textu, glitch, alfabetizace ad.). Široký rozptyl je patrný rovněž v oblasti stylových vrstev a komunikačních intencí – reflexe digitální kultury proniká jak do textů vykazujících vysoké umělecké ambice, tak do děl situovaných na hranici popkultury. Spíše než kvaziavantgardním “směrem” je konceptuální tendence v současné české literatuře spíše jedním z důsledků vlivu digitální kultury na kulturu literární.

The study examines conceptual strategies in literature – as employed in the Czech context only sporadically during the 1990s, and later more intensely after 2010 – which privilege creative method (inspired by digital media or directly employing them) over expression and the subject’s artistic intent. One of the aims of the study is to verify the applicability of Goldsmith’s theory of conceptual writing to the Czech instances of this approach to literature. It transpires that Goldsmith’s programmatic conceptualism – which emphasizes the principle of appropriation – covers only a section of the conceptual strategies in contemporary literature which share the same origin, i.e. contact between literary discourse and digital culture. The corpus of Czech texts created by means of conceptual procedures exhibits considerable internal diversity as to the methods and strategies selected (in addition to appropriation it is also montage, text deformation, glitch, alphabetization and others). Noticeably wide divergence also exists in the area of the works’ stylistic layers and communicative intention – as the reflexion of digital culture infiltrates equally texts that evince high aesthetic ambition and works bordering on pop culture. More than a quasi-avant-garde “movement”, conceptual tendencies in contemporary Czech literature are one of the consequences of the influence of digital culture on literary culture.
