Nástroje z kamene představují pro období mezolitu nejčastěji nalézanou a současně studovanou kategorii artefaktů. Na příkladu dvou kolekcí artefaktů z různých částí Šumavy demonstrujeme přínos studia surovin kamenné štípané industrie k interpretaci mezolitického osídlení Šumavy. Potvrzují známou orientaci na bavorské jurské hlízovité rohovce, ale i lokální rozdíly v podílu jihočeských i podunajských surovin, které lze vysvětlovat různými způsoby (chronologie, sezonalita, teritorialita osídlení apod.)

Lithics are dominant findings for the Bohemian Mesolithics and so they are major sources of information for this period, as well. There were chosen two collections from different regions in the Bohemian Forest. We would like to show how raw materials studies can contribute to the understanding and interpretation of the Mesolithic settlement studies in the Bohemian Forest. These collections confirm dominance of the Bavarian Jurassic cherts in the region, which was known before. But they also show regional differencies in the proportion between Southern Bohemia and Danube region. These regional differencies could be explained in different ways: chronology, seasonality, teritoriality, etc.
