    Zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc) falls into a significant group of heterocyclic organic compounds having excelent properties such as high thermal and chemical stability. It is a p-type organic semiconductor and also a promising material for gas sensing applications since it exhibits a high sensitivity to both electrophilic gases (NO2, Cl2) and volatile organic compounds. ZnPc can be modified by substitution of the peripheral hydrogen atoms in the 4 benzene rings in the Pc molecule by halogen atoms etc. The fluorination of phthalocyanine skeleton leads to influence the distribution of electron density in the π-conjugated system of the macrocycle. This can result in changes in the conductivity of the fluorinated phthalocyanine on the n-type semiconductor. This is in terms of comparison ftalocyninu zinc and substituted phthalocyanines zinc is reflected in change a nature of the reaction at the selected oxidizing / reducing gases when applied to gas sensors.
