Der Text beschäftigt sich mit dem Titelblatt des bedeutenden paracelsischen Werks Basilica chymica (Francofurti 1609), das von dem in Prag tätigen Oswald Croll (um 1560 – 1. 11. 1608) verfasst wurde. Schöpfer des Titelblatts ist Aegidius II Sadeler (1570–1629), der berühmte Kupferstecher Kaiser Rudolfs II. Das Titelblatt fasst mit Hilfe visueller Mittel die theoretischen Hauptkonzepte der parcelsischen Alchymie Crolls zusammen; seine Komposition diente als Vorbild für zahlreiche weitere Titelblätter alchymistischer und medizinischer Drucke.

The paper draws attention to the insufficient interest in the comparison of several important phenomena, related to the Central European branch of the dynasty of the Habsburgs and their Renaissance residences in Vienna, Innsbruck and Prague. It seems, for instance, that the evaluation of the Prague Habsburg mausoleum is hardly possible without a comparison with the Habsburg tombstones in Granada. It is a question of how it is possible that the Palace of Charles V in the complex of the Alhambra in Granada, one of the most important buildings of the Spanish Habsburgs, did not have an influence on the appearance of the residences in Central Europe. While Sebastiano Serlio, the most influential theoretician of architecture in Central Europe, dealt very intensively with the phenomenon of the palace of Charles V.
