Expozice představuje kapitoly z dějin architektury a životního stylu měšťanstva v Brně v období od 2. poloviny 19. století až do počátku 20. století. Expozice stojí na pomezí muzea architektury a "house-muzea". Prolog je věnován rychlému růstu Brna ve 2. polovině 19. století v souvislosti se zrušením hradeb a rozvojem industrializace. Dále se návštěvník seznámí se základními genealogickými údaji o rodu Löw-Beerů, s rozvojem vilové kolonie v Černých Polích a s historií samotné vily. Nedílnou součástí expozice je i náznaková instalace měšťanského interiéru přelomu 19. a 20. století (jídelny), která obsahuje nejen originální nábytkové kusy ze sbírek Moravské galerie, ale i nápojový servis, drobné porcelánové plastiky či atmosféru dokreslující textilie. Opulentní výzdoba interiérů přelomu století vedla posléze Gretu a Fritze Tugendhatových k odmítnutí tohoto stylu a příklonu k jednoduché až strohé moderně.

The exhibition presents chapters from the history of architecture and the lifestyle of citizenry in Brno from the second half of the 19th century to the early 20th century. The exhibition concept is on the boundary between a museum of architecture and a "house-museum". The Prologue introduces the visitor to the rapid growth of Brno during the 2nd half of the 19th century, enabled by the tearing-down of ramparts and development of industry. The visitor will further view the basic genealogical information about the Löw-Beer family, learn about the development of the residential area in Černá Pole and the history of the villa itself. An integral part of the exhibition is an installation giving a taste of a burgher home at the turn of the 19th century (a dining room), which presents period furniture from the collections of the Moravian Gallery, complemented by a drinking set, small china items and fabrics to illustrate the atmosphere. The opulent ornamentation of interiors at the turn of the century later led Grete and Fritz Tugendhat to refuse this style and to incline toward the simple and even austere modern style.
