    In this chapter, two methods are describes for dispersion estimation of copper deposits on graphite surface using Cu photoelectron line intensities ratios. Another method for D estimation based on measurements of core level binding energy shifts ΔEb (ΔEb = Ecluster−Ebulk) is used as well. The calculated values of D are displayed along with the corresponding surface concentrations c of copper calculated from the metal and substrate photoelectron peak intensities. The values of dispersion calculated from the observed core level binding energy shifts using equation suggested by Cheung are also shown, in equation. This equation can only be applied if the Δ Eb changes are because of the interaction of outgoing photoelectron with the unit charge left behind on the cluster surface after photoemission. The interpretation of Δ Eb shifts for metal clusters is rather controversial. Inapplicability of this equation for D estimation at low c is caused by lowering in the difference between total energy changes of the system after and before photoemission. One of the effects that can influence Eb value is the reduction of the number of valence electrons of Cu with d character. Results obtained by these methods are compared and discussed.
