Článek se zaměřuje na filosofickou zásadu známou jako Amicus Plato, sed magis amica veritas. První část sleduje vývoj této legendární školní poučky od Baconovy první scholastické formulace po všeobecné rozšíření díky Cervantesově popularizaci. Autor si klade aristotelskou otázku po původu a příčinách této zásady. Ve druhé části se proto vrací k Aristotelovi jakožto Baconovu zdroji. Sám Aristotelés se ovšem inspiroval u svého učitele Platóna, jak autor dokládá na pasážích z dialogů Phaedo, Republic a Sophist. Ve třetí části se autor pokouší najít příčiny toho, proč Aristotelés tuto zásadu uvádí v kontextu Nicomacean Ethics I. Jednou z odpovědí je pokračování v Platónově theoretické perspektivě. Ale druhá odpověď je nabízena ve čtvrté části prostřednictvím rozboru dobového konceptu přátelství. Poslední část se za pomoci Nicomacean Ethics VIII. snaží nalézt Aristotelovu posici uprostřed mezi Platónem a dobovými politickými mysliteli.

The article focuses on the philosophical principle known as Amicus Plato, sed magis amica veritas. The first part describes the evolution of this legendary school dogma, starting from Bacon's first scholastic formulation to the widespread use caused by Cervantes' popularization. The author proposes an Aristotelian question of the origin and causes of this principle. The second part is therefore returned to Aristotle as Bacon's source. Aristotle himself, however, was inspired Plato, as evidenced on Phaedo, Republic, and Sophist. In the third part, the author tries to find causes why Aristotle uses this principle in Nicomacean Ethics I. One answer is his continuing in Plato's theoretical perspective. The second answer is offered in the fourth part, through the analysis of the Greek concept of friendship. The last part, with the help of Nicomachean Ethics VIII. trying to find Aristotle's views on friendship in the middle between Plato and political thinkers of that time.
