Geografický informační systém je založen na databázi pojmenované Calcarius, která byla navržena tak, aby umožnila zaznamenat maximum informací souvisejících s těžbou a oblastmi výskytu vápence jako suroviny pro vápenné technologie a se zpracováním vápence na vápno (vápenkami) a dalšími souvisejícími technologiemi. GIS a mapové aplikace jsou pro zájemce z řad veřejnosti přístupné přes webovou adresu http://www.calcarius.cz /.

The geographical information system is based on a database named Calcarius which was designed to record maximum information associated with the quarrying and deposits of limestone, the raw material for lime technologies, lime production and related technologies. In addition to these two main directions, the database enables the recording of other related information such as the use of lime, the depiction of links between the raw material source, processing, and use, and records associated with handicraft as part of an experiment. Thus, the scope of the Calcarius Database is quite large with the main goal to cover and integrate a wide range of available information. The GIS and map applications are accessible via the internet address http://www.calcarius.cz /.
