We report on preparation of thermoelectric layers of FeSb2Te and Ce0.1Fe0.7Co3.3Sb12 on sili-con and fused silica substrates via combination of pulsed laser deposition (PLD) and rapid thermal annealing (RTA) methods. Wide range of deposition conditions were tested includ-ing on- and off-axis approaches; varying argon background pressure, target-to-substrate dis-tance (dTS), and fluence. Additionally, the temperature profile during annealing process was also varied. Wavelength dispersive x-ray spectroscopy was used to determine stoichiometry. Optical microscope, mechanical profilometer, and atomic force microscopy (AFM) served to map layers topology. Crystalline structure was determined by X-ray diffraction. The best (in terms of surface and crystalline structure) layers were then characterized by Harman and scanning thermal microscope methods for thermoelectric properties.
