In 1954 Karel Löbl, an important official of the youth organization of the Czechoslovak National-Socialist Party, became a secret collaborator of the communist StB – State Security; he provided information on the activities of the party and on his colleagues. He was laid off from the body of secret police agents only in 1968, when he became a minister of the government of the Czech Socialist Republic. However, since as early as 1948 Löbl collaborated with the so-called registration department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, which was building a network of its own agency in the non-communist parties, and he became a secret member of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia.
