Na základě analýzy recepce internetu v českých literárních periodikách studie modeluje horizont očekávání, s nímž se literatura na českém internetu střetávala od druhé poloviny 90. let 20. století do sklonku nultých let století 21. Výsledky analýzy ukazují na fakt, že internet byl v kontextu české literární kultury vnímán především jako nástroj demokratizace literárního diskursu. Nejsilnější očekávání s internetem spojovali autoři ve sféře tradičních literárních médií hendikepovaní ať už svou politickou minulostí, nebo autoři začínající, amatérští či neúspěšní. Efekt zklamaného očekávání naopak vyvolaly hlasitá prohlášení nečetných autorů hodlajících internet využít k literárním experimentům, neboť tyto své plány nepotvrdili umělecky přesvědčivou realizací v konkrétních dílech. Recepčními, resp. především sebeprezentačními texty tak byla vybudována představa, že základním nositelem literární komunikace na českém internetu jsou amatérské literární servery.

Analyzing the reception of the internet in Czech literary periodicals, the present study models the horizon of expectation, which was connected with literature on the Czech internet from the 2nd half of the 90s of the 20th century to the close of „zero years“ of the 21st century. The results of the analysis show that, in the context of Czech literary culture, the internet was perceived especially as a means to democratize literary discourse. The strongest expectation has originated in the sphere of writers who had been handicapped in traditional literary media by their political past, or in the sphere of beginning, amateur or unsuccessful authors. On the contrary, the disappointed reactions have appeared in the loud proclamations of the few authors intending to use the internet for literary experiments, because the plans were not affirmed in a convincing artistic realization in individual works. Thus, by reception, or, especially, self-presentation texts, the image was built up, that it is the amateur literary servers that are the key vehicle of literary communication on the Czech internet.
