Arabia forms a crossroad of human migrations between Africa and Eurasia. This study, based on mtDNA and genome-wide datasets, enabled postulation of several chronologically successive periods (pulses) when humans migrated from Near East and Middle East to Arabia, from Arabia to Africa and vice-versa. In fact, this paper provides the first larger genetic stratigraphy of the Arabian Peninsula based only on the contemporary genetic diverzity and compare the results with the archaeological data. It confirms also the utility of the mtDNA molecule as a tool for revealing ancient demographic events.
