    This review deals with potential pathogenetic mechanisms contributing to obesity-related hypertension, such as hyperinsulinemia, renin-angiotensin system, sympathetic nervous system, adipokines, together with epigenetic mechanisms and environmental factors. Special attention is given to the age factor (critical developmental period) for the development of obesity
