Studie se zabývá analýzou a interpretací knihy Davida Clemensona Descartes' Theory of Ideas, a to jak z historického, tak systematického hlediska. Analýza bezprostředního historického scholastického kontextu, představená texty jezuitů vyučovaných na koleji v La Flèche, kde Descartes studoval, je užita pro představení Clemensonovy ústřední teze teorie spojující umírněný reprezentacionalismus a umírněný přímý realismus. Autor se z kritického hlediska věnuje některým nedostatkům knihy s ohledem na prezentaci některých teorií scholastických autorů.

The study deals with the analysis and interpretation of David Clemenson's book Descartes' Theory of Ideas, both from the historical and systematical point of view. The analysis of the immediate historical scholastic context, represented by the Jesuits taught in the College La Flèche, where Descartes studied, is employed for the sake of presentation of Clemenson's central thesis connecting the moderate representationalism and the moderate direct realism. From the critical viewpoint the author focuses on some insufficiencies of the book related to the presentation of some theories of scholastic authors.
