Flood-plain forest ecosystems have been investigated by numerous Czech scientist, and numerous scientific papers and books have been published: Evropské nížinné luhy (Mezera, 1956), Floodplain forest ecosystem 1. and 2. (Penka et al., 1985, 1991), Lužní les v Dyjsko-moravské nivě (Hrib and Kordiovský, 2004); The developmental dynamics of virgin forest reserves in the Czech Republic, Vol. II, Floodplain forests, Cahnov-Soutok, Ranšpurk, Jiřina (Vrška et al., 2006); Floodplain forests of the temperate zone of Europe (Klimo, 2008); Thematic publications are focused on hydrology of the Dyje River - Hydroecology of wetland, Kančí obora (Pražák and Vybíral, 2002); On plant species from junction Morava and Dyje - Flóra a vegetace na soutoku Moravy a Dyje (Vicherek et al., 2000); On meadows by river Morava - Morava River Floodplain Meadows (Šeffer and Stanová, 1999); and On bird species from alluvium of rivers Morava and Dyje - Die Vögel der March-Thaya-Auen im österreichisch-slowakisch-tschechischen Grenzraum (Zuna-Kratky et al., 2000). In all of these publications (scientific papers or books), attention to the phenology and impact of climate on flood-plain forest was lacking. The initial publications were concerned with research on the climate, climate change and flood-plain forests and its components, i.e., trees, shrubs, herbs, bird species and trophic chains: Bauer (2006a, 2006b), Bauer et al. (2007, 2008, 2009a, 2009b, 2010, 2012, 2013), Bartosova et al. (2010, 2013) and et Cerna al. (2012). These publications served as a base for this monograph.
