Intercalation of tripodal molecules of tris[(pyridine-4-yl)-phenyl]amine into zirconium phosphate and zirconium 4-sulfophenylphosphonate leads to their organization in a layered system of the hosts. It follows from the UV-Vis and IR spectra that guest is present in both intercalates in an equilibrium of protonated and non-protonated forms.
