The main aim of the publication is to introduce method micromorphology to the wide auditorium of students of geology, pedology, archaeology or botany. Chapters were written by different authors introducing the basics of mineralogy, petrology, soil micromorphology, micromorphology of palaeosols, general concepts of micromorphology in archaeology and special chapters on micromorphology of cave deposits and archaeological deposits. Also one chapter is dedicated to the petroarchaeology of ceramic material.
