In Böhmen, Mähren und Schlesien entstand und existiert bis heute eine ganze Reihe von Heiligtümern, die dem Heiligen Kreuz, seiner Auffindung oder Erhöhung gewidmet sind. Der Aufsatz erinnert an Kirchen und Kapellen, deren Kreuzpatrozinium sich direkt in der malerischen Wand- und Deckendekoration widerspiegelt. Wir stellen einige Beispiele vor, an denen wir die drei Hauptquellen der Entfaltung des Kultes des Heiligen Kreuzes und der mit ihm verbundenen Verbreitung des angeführten Bildtypus zu zeigen versuchen.

A whole range of churches is consecrated to the Holy Cross, to its Revealing and Elevation, had arisen in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. The article is focused on churches and chapels, in which the consecration to the Holy Cross is directly reflected in their wall and ceiling decoration. We attempt to present selected examples and the principal sources of the development and the expansion in the cult of the Holy Cross and the main types of the related images.
