    Huge amount of high energetic particles impinges the Earth every second. The planet protects us from the radiation with the atmosphere and its magnetic field. In some areas of human activities like e.g. aviation, the atmosphere and magnetic field protection role is reduced. Aircrew and spacecrew members are exposed to increased radiation dose rates. According to recommendations of the Internation Comission on Radiation Protection, radiation doses of people working in such an environment have to be estimated. Generally, radiation protection authorities accept estimation based on the calculation with any of the approved computer codes. Nevertheless, it is recommended to verify calculation with direct measurements on-board aircraft. This paper will present results of long term monitoring on-board Czech airlines aircraft. Presented data had been obtained continuously since year 2001, cover whole 11years’ solar cycle and contain above 105 records. We will show that data can be used not only for radiation protection purposes but also for space weather monitoring.
