The study analyses Borges’ short story Pierre Menard, Author of the Quixote as a text that present us with an object whose metaphysical status and the latter’s implications can be studied in a wider context of possible ontologies. Its special focus is on the ancient as well as modern discussions about the indiscernibles or non-distinguishable entities.
