Open and planar nanofiber-based polyurethane structures funtionalized by phthalocyanines were prepared to study their filtration efficiencies and direct microbial inactivation. A system of microbialogical analyses was designed allowing a demonstration of inhibitory effects of phthalocyanines (potentially antibacterial agents) on microorganisms. The morphology of prepared nanostructures has been found to influence deactivation of bacteria.
