The Czech scientific community organized in the years 1880-1914 Congresses of the Czech Naturalists and Physicians which gradually developed into international Slavic scientific congresses. These conventions belonged to the first attempts to organize cooperation of Slavic scientific communities with clearly defined scholarly a political goals and became important means of political struggle of Slavic minorities in the European multinational states.
