Am oberen Ende der Treppe des Altstädter Turm der Karslbrücke in Prag befindet sich die die berühmte,leider sehr beschädigte Statue des Turmwächters (um 1450). Albert Kutal interpretierte sie als eine, ursprünglich buckelige, gleichsam aus den Seiten von Roman von Victor Hugo hervorgetretenne Figur. In Wirklichkeit trug sie wohl auf dem Rücke eine Affe.

The famous sculpture of the Tower Watchman stands at the top of staircase in the Old Town of Charles Bridge primary was crouching on the back a demon or a monkey and what is important is that the statue of Tower Watchman appears to be a unique work of its kind in Europe.
