Tento článek zachycuje historické okolnosti příběhu o mučednické smrti čtyř františkánských misionářů a údajném přenesení jejich kostí Odorikem z indického města Thána do jednoho z františkánských sídel v jižní Číně. Tento příběh je obsažen téměř ve všech verzích Odorikova cestopisu a je zastoupena na freskách v Udine. Nedílnou součástí článku je překlad podstatné části této pasáže cestopisu na základě latinského textu dosud nevydaného rukopisu XVII.E.2., jenž se nachází v Knihovně Národního muzea v Praze.

This article presents the historical circumstances of the story on the martyrdom of four Franciscan missionaries and alleged transfer of their bones by Odoric from the Indian city Thana into one of the Franciscan settlements in southern China. This story is contained in almost all versions of Odoric's travelogue and is represented on the frescos in Udine. The constituent part of the article is a translation of a substantial part of this passage of Odoric's travelogue based on the Latin text of unpublished manuscript XVII.E.2., held by the National Museum Library in Prague.
