Institute of Geology AS CR, v.v.i. and Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague organized Berriasian Working Group meeting from 26th to 29th October. The workshop, which took place in Chlupáč’s museum, was followed by excursions to Bohemian Karst and Bohemian Paradise. The main theme of the conference was a precise definition of the Jurassic / Cretaceous boundary, which is necessary to define GSSP (Global Boundary Stratotype Section and Point). 32 scientists and 6 students came from 11 countries and 4 continents. The working group is focused on sedimentary sequences across the boundary, which are distributed over the world. The task is bio- and magneto-stratigraphic correlation.
