Author identifies significant trend of migration flows from Bangladesh to North-East India (Assam) relates to environmental change and natural disasters such as one of the major cause of the movement. However, the results of the research suggest that environmental conditions interact with other factors to cause migration, economic above all. Climate change processes influences migration in Bangladesh population for last two decades at minimum. The most mentioned livelihood activities that were affected by significant environmental change or natural disaster were housing and farming, in particular rice production that was generally main economic source of locals in rural areas in Bangladesh. The existence of the factors suggests that North-East India, in particular the states of Assam, Tripura, and West Bengal are at high risk of uncontrolled, and economic and environmentally-induced migration flows.
