Detailed knowledge of physical and chemical properties of atmospheric aerosol in the urban environment is becoming more important in last years as more adverse health effects of aerosol particles are known. According to the current Czech legislation, concentrations of selected gaseous pollutants and of PM2.5 and PM10 aerosol fractions are monitored at selected sites. However, this monitoring gives only limited information on properties of measured aerosol, especially concerning the related health effects.
