This contribution is focused on evaluation of texture and transport characteristics of nanofibrous mats prepared from polystyrene, polyurethane and poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) solutions by electrospinning technique. Nitrogen physical adsorption-desorption measurements at 77 K, high-pressure mercury porosimetry and helium pycnometry were used for evaluation of textural properties of nanofibrous samples. Nanofibrous mats revealed high porosity (between 70 and 90 %) with the surface area up to 10 m2/g. Gas transport properties were evaluated from diffusion experiments performed in a Graham’s diffusion cell. All binary counter-current gas diffusion measurements were carried out under laboratory temperature and pressure; combinations of the inert gases included argon, nitrogen and helium were utilized.
