Das besprochene Buch von M. Jakubowicz stellt einen bedeutenden Beitrag zur Erforschung der semantischen Entwicklung des polnischen Wortschatzes dar. Gegenstand ihrer semasiologisch-etymologischen Analyse sind Adjektive urslawischer Herkunft, und zwar Adjektive, die bestimmte (physische sowie psychische) menschliche Eigenschaften benennen.

The reviewed book by M. Jakubowicz represents an important contribution to the research of the semantic development of the Polish vocabulary. The core of her semasiological-etymological analysis is adjectives of Common Slavic origin which denote certain (physical as well as psychical) human qualities.
