Kniha obsahuje úvahy o básnickém umění, o dechu a čáře, obrazech a nalezených objektech, instalacích i akcích. O rychlosti Máchově, posteli Franze Kafky, o snech Jakuba Demla i Jindřicha Štyrského, o traumatech zrození a vražedné smrti. Vychází z předpokladu, že snové obrazy a události odedávna podněcovaly lidskou tvořivost, a klade si otázky, zda žijeme ve "spící společnosti", kde se skutečný svět změnil v obrazy, a jak se na tomto výtvoru podílí umění.

The book contains reflections on the art of poetry, on breathing and lines, on images and newly discovered objects, on installations and events. The author is pondering over Mácha's quickness, Franz Kafka's bed, the dreams of Jakub Deml and Jindřich Štyrský, the naissance traumas and murderous Death. Beginning with the assumption that dream images and events have always stimulated human creativity, the author wonders whether we live in a "dreaming society", where the real world have changed to imaginary, and how the art is participating in this change.
