The article deals with the problems of writing and presenting modern Burma´s(Myanmar´s) history,exemplified with a " A History of Modern Burma" by Michael W. Charney (2009). The author of the article argues that Charney´s book suffers from several methodological problems, namely, that Charney does not use Burmese language sources, that the book lacks stronger argument and a deeper insight into issues under consideration.
